John Denver Memorial Peace Cloth --This traveling peace cloth will be hung for the Festival. The cloth was created after the singer’s death in 1997 as a visible expression of his message of peace for the planet. People from all over the world have contributed pieces to the work so that it is now a 2,000 foot tapestry three feet wide. We will have 150 feet of the cloth at the Festival. Volunteers are needed to help hang the cloth and to be a docent to help people fully appreciate the cloth. There will be an opportunity for students to design and make their own peace panel during the Festival. Walbye Dove Sculpture -- George Walbye, noted Loveland bronze sculptor, has created a dove paper weight to help raise money for PEACE IN THE PARK festivals. They will be for sale at the festival. If the supply runs out, orders will be taken for delivery after the festival. Place one of these paper weights on your desk to invite peace into your life every day….or give several as gifts. |
