These sites represent only a small number of the resources for teaching about peace and human rights. Sites like Educators for Social Responsibility and Peace Corps have lesson plans prepared for students pre-K through high school.
Amnesty International: Amnesty International is a worldwide movement that works to promote all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international standards.
Be the Change: Upstanders for Human Rights: Developed by Facing History, Facing Ourselves for students ages 13-18. The site profiles the stories, influences and motivations of five Reebok Human Rights Award winners.
Echoing Green: Provides a toolbox of resources for young people who are actively involved in social change work and organization building.
Education for a Culture of Peace: Founded by UNESCO’s constitutional mandate to build peace in the minds of men.
Education Place: Pre-K-6 resources for teachers, students, and families to support instruction in the classroom and at home from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing.
Educators for Social Responsibility: ERS’s mission is to make teaching social responsibility a core practice for educators so that young people develop the convictions and skills needed to shape a safe, sustainable, democratic and just world.
Exploring Humanitarian Law: : The website’s function is to help teachers as they introduce the basic principles of international humanitarian law to students in secondary schools.
Free the Children: Founded by Craig Keilburger in 1995 when he was 12. The primary goals of the organization are to free children from poverty and exploitation and free young people from the notion that they are powerless to affect positive change in the world.
Global Engagement Summit: A conference that builds the capacity of the next generation of global change leaders to cross borders and partner with new communities to produce responsible, sustainable solutions to shared global programs.
Global Fund for Children: An organization that works to advance the dignity of children and youth around the world.
Global Youth Action Network: An international collaboration among youth and youth serving organizations to share information, resources and solutions. Its purpose is to promote greater youth engagement.
Green Dove: An organization dedicated to being a presence for peace, offering connections to individuals, organizations, resources, and current events.
Human Rights Watch: Human Rights Watch is dedicated to protecting the human rights of people around the world.
Institute for Economics and Peace: An independent, not-for-profit research institute dedicated to developing the inter-relationships between business, peace and economic development.
International Committee of the Red Cross: An impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victim of war and internal violence and to provide them with assistance.
International Helsinki Federation for Human Rights: A non-governmental, non-profit organization that seeks to promote compliance of the participating states with the human rights provisions of the Helsinki Final Act and its follow-up documents as well as reference to international law.
Peace Corps for Educators: Bring dozens of Peace Corps Volunteer stories, letters, and folk tales with standards-based lessons to your class. Also discover ways to involve students in service learning.
Peace Games: Empowers students to create their own safe classrooms and communities by forming partnerships with elementary schools, families, and young adult volunteers.
Peace Tools for Teachers: The Peace Center in San Antonio, TX has activities and lessons for students of all ages.
Public Allies: Builds the capacity of youth community leaders, providing leadership training, community organizing, etc, in cities across the United States. We believe that everyone can make a difference and work to inspire more citizens to believe in themselves, step up and act.

University of Minnesota Human Rights Center: One of the world’s largest and most comprehensive resources for materials on human rights and human rights education.
Youth for Environmental Sanity:A non-profit organization that educates, inspires and empowers young people to join forces for social justice and environmental sanity.
Youth Venture: An organization that provides resources to young people working to create change in their communities.
Waging Peace: This curriculum was written as a stand-alone guide to teaching peace that can be infused into existing classroom material, used for workshops or as a compendium to the book compiled by Colman McCarthy at the Center for Teaching Peace entitled Solutions to Violence.
